Peace Through Trade Signs Official Government MOU with Panama
We signed our first government MOU.
At EarthX 2026 in Dallas, Peace Through Trade founders Erai and Kyleigha Beckmann met with H.E. Juan Carlos Navarro, Panama’s Minister of Environment, and signed an official Memorandum of Understanding between PTT and the Government of Panama’s Ministry of Environment. The signing took place on camera during the Nature Summit at EarthX, one of the world’s largest environmental conferences, in front of attendees from over 50 countries.
Minister Navarro didn’t sign this casually. This is a man who has dedicated his entire life to conservation and sustainable development. He founded Panama’s leading environmental organization, ANCON, in 1985. He served as Panama’s first Environmental Ambassador. He was named one of the 100 most promising young leaders on the planet by Time magazine in 1994 and a Latin American leader for the new millennium by Time and CNN in 1999. He served as Mayor of Panama City for a decade. He founded one of Panama’s first and largest solar energy companies. And in 2025, he was elected President of the Forum of Ministers of Environment for all of Latin America and the Caribbean, representing 33 countries for the 2025-2027 term.
When someone with that track record looks at what Peace Through Trade is building and says “I want to work with you,” it says something.
The alignment between PTT and Panama’s Ministry of Environment runs deep. Panama is home to some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on the planet. Under Minister Navarro’s leadership, the Ministry has added over 200 new national park rangers, banned logging in the Darien region, joined the UN High Seas Treaty, established the Panama Natural Fund for long-term environmental protection, and launched a national carbon market system. He’s building a country where economic development and environmental protection aren’t competing priorities. They’re the same priority.
That’s exactly what PTT was built to support. Our infrastructure is designed to be sustainable from the ground up: solar-integrated, energy-efficient, aligned with 9 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and engineered to use a fraction of the energy consumed by traditional blockchain systems. We didn’t build sustainability as a feature. We built it as the foundation.
This MOU establishes a working framework for PTT and Panama to explore blockchain policy, university programs, and sustainable technology solutions for Panama and the World. It’s the beginning of a real partnership built on shared values: that economic access and environmental protection aren’t at odds with each other, and that the technology we build should serve both.
Minister Navarro has been following PTT’s progress for months. After seeing the growth of our community and the momentum behind our mission, he initiated the signing. He immediately shared it on his official Instagram account. We now have a direct working relationship with his office as we move forward together.
For us, this is what five years of building looks like. Not hype. Not promises. A real agreement with a real government led by one of the most respected environmental leaders in the Western Hemisphere. And this is just the beginning.
We’re building toward a global alliance of sovereign partners who believe that trade, not aid, is the path to lasting prosperity and peace.
